Traveling lately

Charleston, South Carolina

As previously posted, our first trip of the summer was to Charleston, SC for the wedding of our friends, Lisa Wood and Kyle Abbey.  We had a dreamy time in the beautiful countryside of South Carolina.

Unfortunately, Danny had to travel solo to Seattle.  Two of his Rural Studio Thesis partners were married near Seattle, WA.  I really wish I could have gone, but the timing just didn't work out.  I promise I will be visiting soon!  The pictures look amazing.

Silverthorne, Colorado

Once again, we had a busy busy weekend.  Danny and I traveled to Silverthorne Colorado for a wedding (Brett and Danny went to High School together).  Silverthorne is about 2 hours west of Denver, close to Frisco, Breckenridge, and Beaver Creek.  Obviously it is not skiing weather but its still beautiful!  We were with a fun group of people in an amazing setting!  Can't really ask for more.

Louisville, Kentucky

We helped to welcome Baby Eden to the family on September 10th, 2012.  We were excited to meet Eden finally, but also it was great to see Emily and Andy (Danny's brother) again, after such a long time!

Newbern, Alabama

Yep!  That's right...Dan the Man made an encore appearance at the Rural Studio, with our friend Clifton Burt to teach an Intro to Documenting Workshop to the new students.  The two of them taught the same workshop last year and it was a huge success, with a beautiful book at the end of the year, documenting the students' progress along the way.  Again, I wish I could have gone back too... but I'm holding out for PIG ROAST.

Detroit, Michigan

Every year Danny's office takes an office field trip to do some architect-y Sight Seeing.  This year, the destination was a close one, Detroit.  Many people in the office had not been there (us included) and know that there is a lot to explore.  It was a very fun trip with a lot of interesting stops along the way, including a tour of the Ford Plant outside of Detroit, a tour of Lafayette Park, a tour of the $1 mansion, and lots lots more.  I even got to see Mego for a drink!!!
